Mohanlal's "Kerala Strikers" are set to rock the Celebrity Cricket League. This is a T20 cricket tournament for the celebrities of India. Kerala Strikers is jointly owned by Mohanlal, Lissy Priyadarshan and Shaji. The coach of the team is said to be Pankaj Chandrasenan Nair.
The official launch of the team logo would be done on October 6th. The whole team would be unveiled at the same event, in which Sourav Gangualy, Sohail Khan and other celebrities are expected to take part.
As per the latest news and information from our sources, Superstar Mohanlal is set to be the Captain of the team while the vice captain of the team would be Indrajith. Some of the other keys stars would be Prithviraj, Kunchacko Boban, Bala and Asif Ali, to name a few.
Kerala Strikers is managed by Idavela Babu, and promoted by AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists). "The rules for being a CCL team member are laid out. Each team should have six heroes who should have acted in at least three films, five character artists who should have acted in five films and one team member who should have acted as a hero in at least one film," said Lissy. "There is a cash prize of Rs.2.5 million for the winners," said Lissy.
The first match of the second edition of CCL will take place Jan 21 in Hyderabad. Then the tournament will be held in the middle-east at Sharjah, as there is a huge following of Indian films there due to the concentration of Malayalee's these. On Jan 26 at Sharjah, Kerala Strikers will take on the Mumbai team and the next day they will play the Karnataka team. On Jan 29, Kerala will play against Bengal team at Kochi. On Feb 4, they will play the Chennai team and the finals at Kolkata.
